Abstract
Aftereffect has been understood qualitatively since Preisach first reported it and Neel and Wohlfarth explained its origin. We use the Preisach model to quantitatively discuss relaxation of magnetic materials as a function of their history over the entire time regime. The maximum decay rate occurs at the average operative critical field only for single-quadrant media with small fluctuating fields
