Abstract :
A compound n:1 transformer useful for inverting, noninverting or balun type wide-band transformer is described. We derived equivalent circuits of the transformers, and analyzed them taking into account frequency characteristics of the specific magnetic permeability μ˙s of ferrite core material. We constructed compound √2:1 transformers using small ferrite cores (outer diameter=2 mm), and measured them over wide frequency range (0.1~2000 MHz). The theoretical and measured transformer characteristics are in good agreement
