Abstract :
The peak amplitudes of a shielded MR sensor are shown to be well correlated over a wide range of hard-axis magnetic fields and bias currents between quasi-static and dynamic electrical testing. The peak asymmetry correlation appears to be head design specific. Write disturbances significantly increase the standard deviation of the amplitude and asymmetry repeatability measurements. The presence of a small dc easy-axis magnetic field has little effect on MR responses to uniform fields
