Abstract :
If you think Microsoft and Burger King have nothing in common, you might be surprised to learn that they share the same dilemma day-in and day-out. The problem is a shortage of skilled workers, and it exists throughout the world in a wide variety of industries, information technology, engineering, and even the fast-food industry. This challenge is especially pressing for small to medium sized businesses that need to compete for talent with the big guys but may not have extensive internal resources. The paper considers reward practices for information technology companies.
