Abstract
An explosion is a reaction-physical, chemical or nuclear in nature-resulting in a rapid release of energy in the form of light, heat, sound, and a shock wave. Accidental explosions during the manufacture of fire crackers and safety matches are reported regularly in Sivakasi, India. Sivakasi is well known as “Mini Japan” (or “Kutty Japan”), and is situated in the Virudhunagar District of Tamil Nadu State in India. Industries situated in and around Sivakasi satisfy about 90% of the global demand for fireworks products (for both civilian festival occasions and military needs for signaling).
