Abstract :
Doctor Doherty´s career is a striking refutation of the old adage that “those who can, do; those who can´t, teach.” For many years his name has been identified with the best among those who “do” in engineering. At the same time he has had an unwavering interest in engineering education, and through his many contributions has risen to a position of prominence in that profession.
