  • Abstract
    Nowadays, our societies are facing new challenges in terms of economically and socially supporting their more and more costly welfare systems and increasing elderly population. While several initiatives have been unsuccessful, fortunately, in recent years we are seeing tremendous advances in all areas of technology from lowpower electronics and sensor technologies to the development of novel wired and wireless communication.
