Abstract :
Standards as well as low-energy-type lamps were investigated on F40 96-in instant start and 96-in output systems using electromagnetic as well as electronic high-frequency ballasts. In all cases, reducing the line voltage reduces the input wattage, but in some cases the line current increases with decreasing line voltage. Although all the ballasts discussed herein have 120 V inputs, the 277 V versions tested exhibited the same characteristics
