Abstract :
The variation in reactances of a group of s1ingle-core conductors, as a function of conductor spacings and transpositions, is a problem of importance, particularly in connection with the crossbonded systems in use in the UK. The analytical methods for determining these reactances have long been known, but little attention has been paid to establishing suitable graphical displays. A method for displaying the loci of such reactances is given in the paper. Examples are chosen of trefoil, flat and rectangular spacings in the single-circuit case, together with the double-circuit cases of double-flat formation in both one and two planes.
