Abstract :
The main purpose of this investigation is not to provide a whole new structure design concept for the EMSs that can be installed in the metal industries but to provide detailed theoretical and numerical investigations that can support the metal industries for performance improvements of their existing system equipments. Assisted by the detailed 3-D FEA, the performance of some simple and feasible adjustments that can be easily implemented onto the existing M-EMS systems at the metal industries have been thoroughly investigated. The proposed electrical and mechanical adjustments can all be realized with minimum extra system hardware costs, and the performance improvements compared with the original system design are evident. From such encouraging assessment results, it is believed that a valuable adjustment and improvement guidance can be supplied to the related metal industries.
