Abstract :
Search basics for the designer of personal or corporate Web sites, including tips on maintaining visibility for your site. The author discusses the most commonly used criteria for ranking search results. The best advice is still to find a search site you like, for whatever reason, and stick with it, at least for awhile. Then once you start to get a feel for how results are returned and ranked, adjust your search techniques to get better results. If you´re designing your own pages or a whole site, there is clearly some fine utility in understanding the art of ranking
