Abstract
Daniel Webster Mead (A ´11, F´ 13) has been elected to receive the Washington Award for 1939 “for his superior contribution to sound theory, good practice, and high ethical standards in the creation of engineering works as an engineer and as a teacher,” according to an announcement by the Washington Award Commission. Doctor Mead is a consulting engineer and professor emeritus of hydraulic and sanitary engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
