Abstract :
A new approach to directivity-pattern synthesis of an antenna array is presented. A variety of methods have been used in this field, but the new algorithm allows plane or 3D synthesis for all configurations of arrays. The algorithm proceeds with the simulation of numerous interference signals and a few desired signals incident to the array. The direction and power of desired signals correspond to the characteristics required for the main lobes. Moreover, the algorithm uses the information provided by the received signals covariance matrix in addition to adaptive techniques.
