Abstract
This paper provides indicators to characterize the performance of an electrical power system subject to sustained random perturbations in time. Based on these indicators, a methodology is proposed in order to carry out a fine adjustment of PSS´s parameters. The goal of this procedure is to improve the tuning of traditional tuning techniques, which are based on small signal stability criteria. The proposed methodology is applied to international test systems: three machines - nine bus and ten machines-thirty nine bus.
