Abstract :
On March 11, 2011, an earthquake and a tsunami, one of the strongest in history, hit a northeast part of Japan??s main island, causing much loss of life and severe physical damage. In particular, the damage to the six reactors of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant has been reported in newspapers worldwide. The opinions of the Japanese people on nuclear power plants have since changed significantly. Although many still recognize the importance of nuclear power generation, it would now be very difficult for Japanese power companies to start building new nuclear power plants.
