Abstract :
We give an analysis at the single-particle level of description of the electron beam transverse motion and stability in a plasma accelerator, which uses an external magnetic field like that in the undulator of a free-electron laser. The numerical results show strong focusing of all electron trajectories when the electrons of the beam are accelerated to a few giga electron volts.
