Abstract :
Network models are presented of thermostatically controlled electric space heating as used in north American residential applications. These incorporate the mode-dependent time constants associated with the types of electric heating currently popular in the USA. Representative characteristics are supplied of typical American rooms heated by three types of electric space heating, controlled by three models of thermostat.
