Abstract :
A controllable microwave phase inverter with ?? phase shifting is proposed using two cascaded electro-optic intensity modulators. The phase inversion of a 10 GHz radio frequency signal controlled by a 1 Gbit/s electrical signal is experimentally demonstrated. The bandwidth of the input microwave signal and the speed of the electrical control signal can be significantly extended thanks to the high modulation speed of the electro-optic modulators.
