Abstract :
This paper is concerned with the solution of the actuation and identification problem in a particular model adaptive control system and with the structure of a suitable decision computer for the generation of a suboptimal bang-bang switching function. The control strategy is one of feed-forward prediction, where emphasis is placed on minimising the time required for process identification and actuation. A new type of fast-actuating or adaptive mechanism based on photoelectric principles is proposed for adjusting the parameters of the plant model, which is formulated in electronic-analogue terms.
