Abstract :
A fast first-order polarisation mode dispersion (PMD) compensator for 10 Gbit/s systems with low insertion loss is demonstrated. A response time of 200 ms with insertion loss <3 dB is obtained. The D/A board used in this experiment limits the response-time of the PMDC
