Abstract :
It is shown that a fast analogue representation of Laplace´s equation and the diffusion equation may be obtained using a Monte Carlo method, and a number of problems are examined involving various boundary configurations. An analysis of errors of solution is included, and the paper also presents a graphical technique for obtaining the switching points in a time-optimal problem for a distributed-parameter plant.
