Abstract :
Experimental results of four-wave mixing (FWM) in a semiconductor optical amplifier with high input power under CW operation and with FSK modulation at 155 Mbit/s are described. The results show that a channel spacing larger than 10 GHz would be needed to avoid crosstalk due to first order FWM signals. Also, strong FWM effects are observed even for an input light wavelength 30 nm away from the gain peak.
