Synthesis of network functions to prescribed equiripple approximations of attenuation and group delay

The paper presents the solution to a problem involving the construction of a network function to prescribed linear-gain and group-delay characteristics, over a given frequency range. Solutions are evaluated from iterative numerical procedures, which eliminate the use of polynomials or transformations. Although the Cheby¿shev approximation of two particular responses is described, the methods may be directly extended to the approximation of other responses and other arbitrary characteristics.
