Abstract
Using recently derived asymptotics for the diffracted field on a strongly elongated spheroid and extending this formula to the diffraction by a strongly elongated hyperboloid, we show that large transverse curvature decreases the attenuation of the field on the bodies both convex and concave in transverse cross section.
