Abstract :
In the paper a general description of the synchronous machine is derived in the form of a block diagram which is particularly suitable for the investigation of control problems in power systems. It is shown that the transfer functions included in the block diagram may be calculated from data collected under normal operating conditions. Finally, a preliminary experimental investigation is described, and the results obtained are related to theoretical work.
