Abstract :
A meander-line grid-array antenna specified by an area-reduction factor η is analysed using the method of moments. The antenna is fed from a coaxial line (unbalanced feed) located near the antenna centre. The gain is close to a value where Gref is the gain of the reference grid-array antenna composed of straight wires. It is found that the meander-line grid-array antenna contributes to controlling the HPBW (half power beam width) in the H-plane, keeping the HPBW in the E-plane constant. The frequency responses of the input impedance and gain are also presented for η=0 and 38% with experimental results
