Abstract :
Transmission of short pulses with suppressed third-order fibre dispersion effects is demonstrated by sinusoidal phase modulation of stretched optical pulses. Numerical simulation results show significantly less pulse distortion for transmission of 530 fs pulses over a 10 km fibre link achieved by applying 2.56 GHz phase modulation with a peak phase shift of 3
