Abstract :
Digital-computer-simulation results of multistage delta-modulation systems are reported. Considerable improvement in the tradeoff between signal/noise ratio and transmission rate is possible. Results for 2- and 3-stage systems with band-limited flat spectrum and RC-integrated spectrum are given. Significant decrease in the idle-channel noise of the first stage is possible with the help of the second stage in a 2-stage coder.
