Based on a physical-statistical model, an analytical method is developed to predict the coverage of IMT-2000 communication systems based on high-altitude platforms. First, the general modelling approach is presented, together with L-band experimental validation. The particular case of high-altitude platforms is then analysed in the framework of the IMT-2000 standard
