  • Abstract
In this article, originally presented as an address before the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Past President Lee discusses the importance of mathematics courses in our educational programs — for, as he points out, mathematical concepts are essential not only to the work of the scientist and the engineer, but, in fact, to the work of the world.
