Abstract :
Since 1973, operating and maintenance costs for power production plant have increased by 410%, while fuel costs have increased by 445%. Plant automation through improved instrumentation and control systems provides a cost-effective means to contain both operating and maintenance costs, as well as assisting in the more efficient utilisation of fuel by improving plant efficiency, manoeuvrability, reliability and availability
