Abstract :
A comprehensive model for a complex-coupled distributed feedback laser diode monolithically integrated with a Mach-Zehnder modulator is developed and validated by comparison with experimental data. Methods and their tradeoffs for reduction of adiabatic frequency chirp due to the parasitic reflections from the modulator are discussed
