Abstract :
Formulas suitable for the digital computation of the local losses due to eddy currents in aluminium tanks caused by nearby current-carrying leads or by the winding leakage flux are presented. By means of an example, it is shown that the eddy currents in the tank have a negligible influence on the mechanical forces operating on the windings.
