Abstract :
The cascadability performance of (1) 30 arrayed waveguide grating (de)multiplexers alone and (2) 15-wavelength selective crossconnect paths were investigated. For the first time, a four-channel 10-Gb/s transmission over 15 cross-connects spaced by 78.3 km of dispersion compensated standard single-mode fibers was demonstrated in a recirculating loop experiment.
