Abstract :
Based on the principle of symmetrical firing of the convertor valves, the paper presents a direct-digital-control scheme which exploits fully the inherent power controllability of h.v. d.c. transmission links. The hardware and operation of the monitoring transducers and integrated logic circuits provided to achieve the necessary accuracy and speed are described.
