Abstract :
A new universal equivalent circuit is developed based on the crossfield theory. By using the appropriate circuit parameters, the equivalent circuit can be used to analyse the steady-state performance of all induction motors whose rotors are symmetrical but whose stators may be symmetrical or otherwise. Applications of the equivalent circuit to a variety of commonly used induction motors are discussed. Simulations of a number of different connections are presented, and an example of the simulation is evaluated with a digital computer.
