Abstract
Researchers in Ireland have designed and built a 3.5 GHz solar antenna that is cheaper and simpler to manufacture than previous designs. By integrating an optically transparent patch antenna with an amorphous silicon solar module, the team from the Dublin Institute of Technology have created a solar antenna suitable for wireless and sensor network applications that has a reduced area footprint, and can be assembled after solar module manufacture.
