Abstract :
Layouts for all possible shapes of Arabic alphabet characters are proposed for implementation using 5×7 dot matrices. A novel method for character generation is explained that reduces the total number of fonts required, thus reducing the size of the ROM. This system makes possible the display of legible text in its prevailing form. Since numerals present no problem of interconnection and of varying shapes, they are not considered
