Abstract :
The main idea of this research is to provide a graphical representation of various features in polarimetric SAR data. Returned signal from a target contain all polarizations whereas conventional method shows polarimetric information just in a restricted number of polarization bases. More details of physical information are depicted from polarimetric signature according to various polarization bases of target backscattering. Distinct polarization bases separates classes with near backscattering due to its different responses. A Radarsat-2 image, which was acquired in August 2009, was chosen for this study. The backscattering from different classes (Water, Urban, Forest and Ground vegetation) were analyzed by the proposed method. The results illustrate that polarimetric signatures of various features can be an effective tools for analyzing the different classes.
