Abstract
The application of the transmission-line-matrix method to determine cutoff wavenumbers of continuous and homogeneous waveguides of arbitrary cross-section is described. Examples are given for ridged-waveguide problems for the dominant and higher-order modes. The ways in which errors can occur are investigated, and the method is compared with existing numerical procedures.
