Abstract :
Wedge-diffraction analysis is used to derive some relatively simple formulas for back radiation. The rear axial radiation can be controlled by castellation, and all rear radiation can be reduced by reducing the edge illumination. The order of magnitude of these calculations agrees with measurements on parabolic dishes.
