It is these needs which the telegraph, through its system of fast record communications, has been able to anticipate and provide for. Engineering research and developments in telegraphy have fully kept pace with the modern trend, and during the last year or two, there have been brought to conclusion several developments which promise to make the telegraph more necessary than ever to our social and industrial life.
