Abstract :
A capacitance-based displacement transducer consisting of three concentric cylinders is introduced and analyzed. The design eliminates measurable humidity effects and reduces temperature effects to below 10 p.p.m./°C over the temperature range of 20°C to 60°C. Electric noise considerations lead to a design of a 0.5-in-span (12-mm) transducer with 0.01% accuracy
