First Experience as EiC [From the Editor´s Desk]

Welcome to the first issue of 2010, the 17th year of IEEE Robotics & Automation Magazine, and my very first role as editor-in-chief (EiC). I would like to thank the Society for entrusting me with this role and also thank my predecessor Stefano Stramigioli for helping me up the learning curve. I would also like to thank our Society Administrator Rosalyn Graham Snyder for all her behind-the-scenes work for the magazine. Finally, I´d like to acknowledge the wonderful effort by Stefano, Ros, former EiC Kimon Valavanis, and our founding editor, Mike Leahy, all of whom worked to bring the magazine from a concept to the number one impact-factor publication in robotics.
