Abstract
A relationship for the mean-square error ¿2 has been derived for a channel disturbed by purely impulsive noise. The problem of optimum energy allocation and of determining the threshold has been solved, and it is shown that optimum energy allocation extends the threshold by 1.62 dB in white Poisson impulsive backgrounds.
