Abstract
An accurate method for the determination of the pulsations in the main flux in induction-motor teeth, due to relative motion of the slotted boundaries, is given. It is shown that tangential-force harmonics are associated with this changing flux, and equations are derived expressing their relation with the defining dimensions. Results are presented in the form of graphs, and relatively simple relations for the basic force and flux quantities are derived and examined.
