Abstract :
In this issues, we first introduce nanotechnology-related projects from the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelect ronics (WNLO), China. WNLO is a new breed of large-scale laboratories built by the Chinese Government since 2003. There are currently only nine such national laboratories in China (with ten more approved in 2006 and are currently under construction). Their significance is that they represent China´s continual effort to devote and focus resources to important R&D areas.
