Y.): The advance of engineering in recent years has been especially marked by the joint use of widely different branches of engineering knowledge in a single structure, as, for example, the combined electrical, mechanical, and thermal theories underlying such developments as the Magne-Blast breaker and the hydrogen-cooled machine.
