Abstract :
Determining what products and services customers find of value is a crucial aspect of marketing. Our society members are "customers," with the Society\´s marketing efforts having primary focus on satisfying their needs while meeting the broader goals of their Society. Since any organization must operate within the boundaries of its mission and/or goals, we revisit the goals of the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) first, which are two-fold: (1) Scholarly - scientific and directed toward the advancement of the theory, practice, and application of communications engineering and related arts and sciences. (2) Professional - promoting high professional standards, development of competency and the advancement of the standings of members of the professions.
