Abstract :
An online, asynchronous learning and simulation environment for antenna education is described. The simulation environment revolves around a Web-based Mathematica(R) gateway, named WebMath. WebMath accepts standard common gateway interface input from forms and JavaTM applets and applications. The system permits the online execution of Mathematica(R) commands with immediate or deferred output, and acts as a front-end to external computational engines. Beyond conventional Mathematica(R) kernel output, WebMath provides optional animations and virtual reality modeling language renditions. Several examples demonstrate how WebMath can be used in an introductory antenna course as a supplement to traditional teaching methods
